PICTURE DAY ON MONDAY!!  (All pics can be ordered online for up to Wednesday). TODAY IN 7B: WEEKLY MASS with Fr. Daniel and 4th grade Mass Buddies ENGLISH 7: students took, corrected, and recorded scores for U.2 Vocab Quiz; class began a lesson of Shakespeare's use of figurative language and literary devices--specifically iambic pentameter  ENGLISH 8: students submitted D.A. Folders (1st discussion question for The Devil's Arithmetic ); class took, corrected, and recorded U.2 Vocab Quiz; barely enough time to start reading Ch.5 of DA RELIGION: Jesus in Scripture & Catholic Doctrine Assessment  LITERATURE: students worked in groups on "mk" literary analysis questions MINI-BREAK---done early and enjoyed a little Incredibles 7B HOMEWORK: RELIGION: for those making up "Biblical Foundations" test on Monday---study hard because it's fill in the blank ENGLISH 7/8: opportunity to retake U.1 Vocab Test (must email teacher BEFORE CLA

TODAY IN 7B: PE BLOCK ENGLISH 7-2: students broke out into Shakespeare Play Groups to summary their assigned acts of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream ENGLISH 8-1 & 8-2: class worked independently on literary analysis work (flashbacks, symbolism, foreshadowing, and indirect vs. direct characterization) for The Devil's Arithmetic RELIGION: students worked independently to create a study guide for tomorrow's test (pp.315-317 & 320-321) SPANISH LITERATURE: class re-read mk and worked on vocabulary HOMEWORK FOR 9-20-18: ENGLISH 7-1 & 7-2:  ENGLISH 8-1 & 8-2: review for U.2 Vocab Quiz; complete one Chapter 1 Discussion Question from Devil's Arithmetic (BRING HARD COPY TOMORROW---typed or handwritten is fine) RELIGION: finish Study Guide and review for tomorrow's test (Jesus in the Scriptures pp.315-317 and Catholic Doctrine pop.32-321); PLEASE NOTE: Biblical Foundations Make-up Test (fill in the blank) will be Monday, 9/24/18

TODAY IN 7B: PE ENG 7-1 & 7-2: students continued the practice of SSW; were given time to work on U.2 Synonyms & Antonyms; and were broken into "Snapshot Groups" to analyze a specific act in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (group presentations next week) ENG 8-1 & 8-2: students continued the practice of SSW; were given time to work on U.2 Synonyms & Antonyms; and viewed Extra Credit Presentations (assigned over the weekend) regarding serious themes in The Devil's Arithmetic RELIGION: Scripture reflection on Psalm 42:6 and discussion ART: students created unique van Gogh masterpieces  MUSIC: learning to read music HOMEWORK FOR 9-19-18: ENGLISH 7 & 8: finish U.2 Synonyms & Antonyms (start studying those vocab terms) RELIGION: complete and submit Monday Morning Intentions to Google Classroom

TODAY IN 7B: PE ENG 7-1 & 7-2: class did a SMARTBOARD U.2 Vocab Review; and viewed clips on A Midsummer Night's Dream ENG 8-1 & 8-2: class did a SMARTBOARD U.2 Vocab Review; students finished reading Ch.3-4 in 8-1 and Ch.3 in 8-2 and began work on packet RELIGION: students were assigned to write Monday Morning Intentions for 9/24 SPANISH LITERATURE: students read pp.33-41 mk by Jean Fritz HOMEWORK FOR 9-19-18: ENGLISH 7 & 8: see Google Classroom RELIGION: due Thursday (see Google Classroom)
